WP 5 – Implementation of selected refinery concepts (DBFZ)
The aim is to analyse the overall regulatory and operational framework for the implementation of the selected refinery concepts, supplemented by success factors for possible business models and the creation of an exemplary implementation plan in coordination with all REF4FU partners.
To this end, the market prospects in the context of the EU Green Deal will be analysed, taking into account regulatory requirements such as the Climate Protection Act, the GHG reduction quota and specific European directives. In addition, certification systems and crediting models for sustainability are analysed to ensure that the fuels developed meet the regulatory requirements and can be counted as compliance options for the GHG quota. To assess the competitiveness and success factors for business models, a SWOT analysis will be carried out to analyse the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks of the refinery concepts. In addition, an implementation plan for the practical realisation of the refinery concepts will be developed, taking into account both retrofitting of existing plants and new concepts. For example, the necessary plant capacities for the provision of renewable fuels and their contribution to the GHG quota and the implementation of the EU Green Deal will be estimated.
Innovations:
The work allows for the development of an implementation plan that is not yet available and that takes a holistic view of the practical realisation of exemplary refinery concepts for the first time.
